    "Ametsaren lana": back from San Francisco

      The young Souletins' journey to California from 19 to 31 August 2009 was successful. They visited San Francisco and the surrounding area before taking part in the Basque Culture Center's Festival on 29 and 30 August where they performed Mixel Etxecopar's "Euskamerikan Artzain" pastorale.                             Kirmen Uribe: contemporary Basque poetry in New York

                              Born in 1970 in Ondarroa (Biscay), Kirmen Uribe is a poet, novelist, essay writer and playwright. He has translated the poems of Raymond Carver, Sylvia Plath, Wislawa Symborska and Mahmud Darwix into Basque amongst others, and has taken part in many multimedia projects combining poetry, music and plastic arts.
