Dès l'âge de 12 ans, Ibrahima était dans un camion comme apprenti en Guinée, jusqu'à ce que sa mère l'appelle : son petit frère avait disparu. Il se mit à le chercher. Traverser le désert, rencontrer les passeurs, les policiers, les ravisseurs, connaître la soif, la faim, la douleur... La route de l'Afrique vers l'Europe. Déshumaniser ceux qui traversent la Méditerranée est indispensable pour répandre l'indifférence sur leurs morts, leurs expulsions, leurs vies illégales. Mais chacune de ces vies est unique et donc universelle.
