1856-1869 bitarteko urteetan Luis-Luziano Bonapartek abiatu zuen euskal dialektoen sailkatzeko eta biltzeko lan erraldoia, tokiko hainbat euskararen puntako adituen ekarpena eta lana antolatzen zituela.
Kepa Altonagak, EHUko biologia irakasle eta idazle, euskararen historian mugarri izan zen egitasmo honen irakurketa kritikoa proposatzen digu.
Mintzaldia euskaraz izanen da, bat-bateko itzulpenarekin frantsesez eta Euskal etnopoloaren 2020-2021eko mintegian sartzen da.
