Mintzaldi honetan, Patrick Cabanel historialariak 1880 eta 1920 urteen artean, Errepublika laikoak nazioa eraikitzen nola bukatu zuen aipatuko du. Errepublikak, laikotasunaren gauzatzeko eliza katolikoari aurre egin zion, baita eskualdeetako kultura eta hizkuntzei ere.
